In the world of fractions, fairness is everything! If we divide a shape into parts that are not the same size, we can't call them fractions. We call those "impostors." To be a true fraction, every single piece must be equal.
1
Sub-Topic 1
The Equality Rule
Ensuring every piece is exactly the same size.
Fractions have two main parts separated by a bar. The Denominator lives "Downstairs" and tells us how many equal pieces the whole was cut into. The Numerator lives "Upstairs" and tells us the number of pieces we actually have or are eating!

Sub-Topic 2
The Fraction House
Learning where the Numerator and Denominator live.
A Unit Fraction is the building block of all fractions! It's what we call it when we only have exactly ONE piece of the whole. The Numerator is always 1!
3
Sub-Topic 3
Unit Fractions
The power of exactly ONE piece.
Think about a pizza! If you share it with 2 people, you get a huge slice. If you share it with 100 people, you only get a tiny crumb! More parts mean smaller pieces.
Did you know?
The Inverse Size Rule: The bigger the bottom number (Denominator), the smaller each individual slice gets!
